NOTES RE: THE PARTS MP3s

For those that read music a bit, note that the arrangements of these songs are at times modified slightly as per verbal directions at choir. For this reason they may not be exactly the same as what you see on the printed music or hear on the MP3s from past concerts. In all cases go with what you hear on the (Sop., Alt., Ten. Bas.) parts files below as these are the versions that we will be singing.

In some cases your part will play as a piano sound, and in other cases as a computer "ooo" sound, but in all cases your part will be louder than the other voices, allowing you to follow it easily.

UPDATING YOUR CORE REPERTOIRE

If you joined the choir before September 2008 and you haven’t updated your Core Repertoire pages since then you can do so anytime using the "CR" links below

1) To replace your “Lyrics Only” section click on any “CR” link in the Core Repertoire list

2) To add any missing sheet music scroll down the list and check any song that has “SM” in the lyrics column to see whether or not you have a copy in your binder. If you don’t click on the “SM” link and print a copy.

playing mp3 audio files from your computer

PLEASE NOTE:
If the music player program in your computer won't open the
above audio files try downloading a free copy of:
Media Player for IBMMedia Player for MAC  or  WinAmp for IBM

QUICK & EASY METHOD

To play the audio file on the Internet simply left click on the name of the song, let it take the time it needs to load into the default music player on your computer and then merrily sing along as often as you want for as long as your music player remains open.  The song will be available on this site this way until after the concert.

DOWNLOAD METHOD

To download it and play it on your own computer and/or transfer it to some other playback type:

1) Right click on the name of the song.

2) On the menu that opens up select "Save file as..." or  "Save target as..." or something similar depending on your browser.

3) When the download box opens up follow its directions to save it in an appropriate folder on your hard drive.

4) Once it is saved you can:

A) open it with whatever audio player program you have that plays MP3s

B) copy it to a portable MP3 player and take it for walks or jogs

C) copy it to a cassette tape or CD and take it for rides in your car

5) Sing! Sing! Sing Again!

A hint from Shelley Giesbrecht, GHC Soprano
If the file doesn't play properly after you download it, delete it and download it again. Both times that I have done this the second time was the charm.

If you are stuck you can email me at bill@gettinhigherchoir.ca or call me at 920-4160 (8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday to Friday)

Sing in joy wherever you are.

Bill
