Can’t wait!
Shivon, Dennis, Gloria, Bill & my fellow singers,
I was part of the audience for Heartwoven and wanted you all to know that the concert was exceptional! When you sang “Prayer of the Children”, I was moved to tears and involuntarily spoke the words aloud “that was beautiful”.
Congratulations, well done!
Hello to all you intrepid concert singers!
For several reasons, I had to sit out these two concerts but I used my comp ticket to attend on Friday night with two friends. I was verklempt many times during the concert - your focus and your sound was truly amazing. I could see you were enjoying singing and performing and it seemed to flow very easily. My friends said several times that it was a great concert and that they’ll come again.
When it got to Vois sur ton chemin, I could tell you’d really worked hard to get the words and the diction and then tell a great story. I’m glad I didn’t have to sing Mouth music, being a slow talker and singer. You were going a hundred miles an hour down that road and did a great job of it!
Take a bow, everyone!
I’ll see you again next session.
Lynne Crawshaw, Tues./Thurs. tenor
This was my first concert. It was fantastic. The energy was all encompassing.
One particularly memorable moment was the singing of Prayer of the Children on Sunday. Even in the most mundane situations this is a moving song, but with the direction that Denis gave us on Sunday it went above and beyond. There were a few times during the song that I found it very hard to control my emotions, and thanks to Shivon for her advice on how to do that.
At the end it was clear to us in the choir what Denis was feeling and I think many of us were feeling the same. Thanks Denis for taking us there.
I was so focussed on Shivon and Denis for direction that I found myself looking to our Minister for direction with the hymns in Church!
All the comments I got were very positive…….the only adverse comment was from a couple who had been to several concerts. They they felt that although they thought Bob Bossin was funny and enjoyed him, his performance was out of context and interrupted the flow unlike eg. Beth Nielsen Chapman or Ann Mortifee and they would rather have heard more choir.
MANY thanks to Shivon and Denis for their hard work and dedication!
A comment from my friend who attended Fri night.
i LOVED that concert. especially the first half. i felt the harmony of the whole choir and i really liked all the songs. ALL of them. the first one about walls, struck something in me. i have been letting all my walls down, to let love in.
the song judy told us about …….the song for the children……….that was a beautiful song and it made me think of lots of things. singing is so healing and hearing beautiful singing is too. also that song about appreciating that you are alive everyday………that one got me too. loved it.
its so wonderful to hear ALOT of voices of so many people allllllllll singing at once. the sound is very powerful and feels good. some songs and some sounds made the hair on my arms stand up.
